An article published on February 9, 2018 in Business Insider reports that Microsoft is planning to use virtual reality headsets to make its own products.
The company is using its HoloLens headset for Windows 10.
A video shared by Microsoft shows a HoloLens device in a glass container.
The container also looks like a physical computer, with an Xbox console attached to the side.
A headset with a Kinect sensor attached is seen in the background.
It’s possible that the company is experimenting with using virtual reality to create a virtual, augmented reality experience that would be easier to use for people with disabilities.
Microsoft is also experimenting with building its own headset.
The HoloLens company is currently using the Samsung Gear VR headset for developers, and the Oculus Rift virtual reality device for the Oculus community.
Microsoft has yet to announce its plans for a HoloSense-enabled headset.
