Two men have been arrested after a man died after he was rushed to hospital after being struck by a truck that had been involved in a collision on the highway.
Officers were called to the area of North Lamar Boulevard and US-101 just before 3am Saturday morning.
When they arrived, a 32-year-old man was found in a ditch with multiple head and body injuries.
The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The truck was found abandoned on the side of the road and no other vehicles were found at the scene.
Police are now looking into whether the collision was an accident or a crash involving multiple vehicles.
They have issued an arrest warrant for a 22-year old man from Bakersfield, California, who is in custody.
Police said the crash occurred on the northbound side of Highway 101 between US-5 and US 100.
The driver and another man were both taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
The other man remains in hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the crash and how the vehicle ended up on the roadway.
